This is Mozart Edition (Great Britain) Ltd

Mozart Edition (Great Britain) Ltd. started life in 1957 in London. From the start, the company – managed by Joe Cohen – offered sheet music and recordings of a wide range of instrumental music.

The repertoire was fast expanded by Joe Cohen, who successfully managed the company from its office in London’s Wardour Street during the sixties and much of the seventies. He published works by a number of famous British composers, including Alan Abbott, Ronald Binge, Frank Chacksfield, Madeleine Dring, Peter Hope, Wilfred Josephs, Bryan Kelly, Alan Langford, Gordon Langford, David Lyon, David Morgan, John Rutter, Ernest Tomlinson, Fred Tomlinson, Gilbert Vinter, Gareth Walters – to name just a few (for a complete listing please see the section ‘Our Composers’).

From the beginning, the company also represented many famous composers and musicians from the continent. One of these is Nico Dostal, often called “The last emperor of the Golden Viennese Operetta Era.” Happy Games (“Fröhliches Spiel”), perhaps his most famous orchestral work, was recorded by the Berliner Philharmoniker, which he also conducted. It has also been performed on the BBC Radio 2 programme ‘Friday Night is Music Night’ by the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Mozart Edition (Great Britain) Ltd. is managed by Steve Daniels who continues to maintain the traditions of this established British music publisher.
